Timeline of Samuel L. Jackson’s Career

Samuel L. Jackson was born in Washington, D.C.
on December 21, 1948, but raised in samuel-l-jacksonChattanooga, TN.  Upon graduating high school, he attended Morehouse College, an
, in Atlanta, GA. While a student at Morehouse, Jackson became involved in the black-power movement. He was expelled from the college in 1969 after locking several board members of the college in a building for two days.

After that he moved to Los Angeles and worked as a social worker. After watching a  performance by the Negro Ensemble Company, Jackson was inspired to start a new chapter in his life, he was inspired to be an actor. He returned to Morehouse College to pursue a degree in acting. In 1972 Jackson gets that degree from Morehouse College.

In 1976 he moved to Harlem in New York City, to get away from the racially charged politics. He began working in Off-Broadway productions as an actor in New York. In 1981 his life would change after meeting fellow actor Morgan Freeman and a New York University Film student named Spike Lee. The rest is history or in this case, a timeline.
